THE POETIC BODIES
Yoshito Ohno, son of Kazuo Ohno, was the first dancer present on the stage of the first butoh performance. He was from the beginning part of its history and development.
Yoshito was for all of his life between his father Kazuo Ohno, and the founder, Tatsumi Hjikata. He tried to filter their teachings and put together a methodology to create "the body of butoh"
舞踏の体 for the next generations. In this workshop we will experience the exercises in the way he used to teach. The exercises serve build up the butoh posture and stage presence.
His teachings, part of which I have been my self translating live during his workshops, speak not only to the professionals but to everyone.
They speaks about life and its flower.
How to cherish life and experience it preciously was his goal with butoh.
Original texts and materials will be shared during the workshop.
